The 27 hole golf course designed by Donald Steel, Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, provides golfers with challenges that are testing, yet fair and enjoyable.Comprising the Avon, Brunel and Severn, Woodspring Golf and Country Club has been designed as three separate nine hole courses. Each nine has its own set of characteristics;the Avon is the shortest of the three and asks you to hit the ball strategically, making it more important to hit the ball accurately than a long way.The Brunel has some testing water features that come into play. With its small raised green, the iron play has to be impeccable if you are to play under your handicap.

It has an all-seated capacity of about 21,500, with an effective capacity (depending on how many away tickets are allocated, and how they are segregated) of around 19,100. It was the home of Bedminster F.C. until the 1900 merger, and the merged team played some games there the following season, but it did not become the permanent home of Bristol City until 1904. Visiting fans are housed in the Wedlock Stand at the south-east end of the ground, which was built as a covered terrace in 1928, converted to seats in the 1990s and was the traditional home fans' end until 1994.
The Players Club is a new 18 hole championship course situated just one mile from junction 18 of the M4. Open in May 2002, one of the striking features is its maturity with woodland, lakes, trees and gorse coming into play. At over 7,600 yards, it's the longest course in the United Kingdom but from the front markers dips below 6,000 yards.Six sets of tees will ensure that whatever your handicap, you will enjoy your round. Put this on your 'must play' list as one notable golf writer said, "well, this is about as good as it gets".
The 18 hole, 6,031 yard, Par 71 course sweeps the golfer through the peace and tranquility of Stockwood Vale towards the delightful and historic village of Queen Charlton. The fairways cross streams and stunning natural features. No two holes are alike and the whole course overflows with spectacular interest. The greenstaff produce excellent playing surfaces and complement them with immaculate tee to green presentation. The 18 holes have been built to USGA specification and great attention has been paid to drainage so that the course is playable in all but the most extreme weather conditions.
12 miles North East of Bristol (South West England), the course is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the Cotswold hills and adjacent to the historic, characterful 17th century market town of Chipping Sodbury. This Fred Hawtree designed parkland course was opened in 1971. Subsequent maturing, development and care have given a superb course which presents a challenge to all levels of golfer. Water hazards are a feature on many holes and the greens, though large, play smaller than their size, as many of them are raised slightly from the surrounding terrain.

UWE was founded in 1970 as Bristol Polytechnic, however its roots go back to the foundation of the Merchant Venturers' Navigation School in 1595. Part of this institution (to which the Universities of Bristol and Bath also partly owe their origins) became a technical college which, after merger with various other colleges, in turn became the polytechnic. Like the other former polytechnics, this gained University status and its present name as a result of the Further and Higher Education Act, 1992.[4]
