We would stay here again but in our opinion the full English breakfast was of poor quality in most areas.

Very nice and clean hotel in a good location. Lovely staff, however the beds are very squeaky. Only downside, other than that no complaints. Breakfast was very nice also!

Not sure what to expect as slightly quirky. However room was small but not uncomfortable small, bed was comfy and had what we needed. Close to where we needed tobe and walking distance to a pub for dinner. Price was good and better value than premier/travelodge. Staff helpful. Breakfast if needed. Would use again

I wanted a place close to Winterbourne and Fishponds. My room had two bedrooms one was nice with a large bed the other had a small bed. The one with the small bed was unusable due to a heating system fault. A staff member apologized. I was very happy with my room. I had the full English breakfast which I enjoyed. Off street parking and WiFi was available. No speed bumps. ( I have a low car).

I booked this a day before I stayed and the rate was one of the best in the area. The room although compact was perfectly adequate for my needs. Even though the Coach House is close to the busy ring road and off of Bristol Road, I had a good nights sleep in a comfortable double bed. There is a bus stop outside the gates which connects directly to Bristol City Centre. This location is just off the M4 and M32 so good links to drive to many areas. The charge for breakfast is quite resonable, although I did not try it so cannot comment on the quality of it.A good place to stay for simplicity, Convienience and price.

We enjoyed our short stay at the coach house, however the room we was put in was right by the main door to the stair well and the banging of the door shutting did disturb us rather alot during the night.
Reviewer: Charley| Tue 8th Oct 2024 | 5 months ago
Overall a good place for a stopover, the location being a short distance from M4, M32 and the ring road. There is free parking. The surroundings are quiet.Reception was unmanned, but a member of staff quickly answered the call number. The room was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It would have been improved by a couple of maintenance issues having been tackled, both cosmetic .The breakfast was excellent, both the continental and cooked breakfasts were well presented and provided a wide choice. The breakfast staff lady was efficientand welcoming.A few minutes walk away is a good bistro pub. Nearby is an interesting stroll along the River Frome.

This B&B needs a little TLC outside. The parking spaces are a little tight, but there are enough of them. We had to call the number shown on a nice board inside the lobby to book in. Our room was up a staircase and we noticed some uneven flooring and a hidden ridge under the carpet, which could do with some updating. In, fact the whole place deserves some TLC. The breakfast room is nice, and the breakfast was cooked to order and plentyfull.everything clean and tidy , and pretty much everything you need for a continental. Overall, we had a comfortable sleep, bright and airy room and en suite. I just feel a sruce up of the flooring and a coat of paint is due.Thankyou .

Thecoachhouse b and b provide what they say. We had an excellent night stop over with our two dogs and 3 Adults. The breakfast was superb, our choice was full English breakfast which you could tailor to what you want with the choice of eggs (poached, scrambled, fried or boiled). A generous selection of teas and coffees. For a evening meal the White Horse is very good and a 5 minute walk away.

The Coach House is in a great location, has good parking and is only a few minutes walk from a popular pub serving good food in a lovely setting. I brought my dog and was warmly welcomed with her. There was a nice walk nearby as well. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Nice tea-making facilities, soap etc provided but the building is a bit ‘tired’. The real issue for me was the neighbour - a large stately home which had a party in the garden and played REALLY LOUD music until 12 midnight. That was a real shame.

We stayed here as all the hotels in Bristol were a lot more expensive and it has free parking. The bus stop is immediately outside, the Y1 and Y2 both take you to the centre and the harborside is just a few minutes walk. Our room was functional the bed was small but linen was goods the pillows were on the small side.We would stay here again as we just use it as a base with a bed.The White Horse pub is just a 5 minute walk and the food is fabulous along with the staff. we booked direct with the hotel and the continental breakfast was included in the price which was good.Other people had cooked and it looked very good.

Friendly staff and quite relaxed atmosphere and no lengthy rules and regs regarding to dogs. The free continental breakfast was fine and although we didn’t have the cooked breakfast, it looked very nice. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee provided. However, the place looks very tired and worn and could do with a makeover. The whole place is kept very clean but just a shame about the yellowed/chipped paint and ill fitting doors/windows. All that said, it is worth staying as the staff are lovely and helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean.

My room was spacious, clean and comfy. The bathroom was also large and had both a bath and shower and plenty of hot water!I had the continental breakfast. There was plenty of choice of items. It was a shame that there were no croissants or pastriesThere was sufficient parking on all 3 days of my stay.It felt safe and it was quiet, which is important for someone travelling alone.By the way, the sign was tricky to spot and I missed it first time.It isn't the smartest of hotels but it was good value compared to other Bristol hotels and the staff were friendly. It was convenient for me as I was using the M4 and M32Some separate minor points, and not serious complaints because I would definitely stay there again, my room (number 3) could do with a stool or chair for the desk, and the mirror was too low for me to do my make up and hair. Also there was a small step in the bathroom which was easy to miss and I had to put something on the floor by it to remind me.

From my initial call to book a room, through arrival, breakfast and leaving, I was made to feel very welcome. My room was comfortable and a good size, and the shower was very good (something which is often not the case in hotels!).I had the continental breakfast which was an 'all you can eat' buffet with a good selection. The only downside was that although I had a non-smoking room there was definitely a smell suggesting that it had been smoked in at some point recently which is the only reason for not giving it 5 stars.

If you would like a good nights sleep then come to the coach house. Clean and comfortable beds and linen. Could have done with an extra pillow though. Everything else is charming in character but very dated and in some respects needs addressing.Lounge area is not welcoming and quite frankly dirty. I would not sit in those black armchairs. Breakfast room floor and decor is not very clean or pleasing to the eye over a meal. Taps in room were stuff and water took a while to get hot. Continental breakfast lacked berries and pastries. Tinned fruit is not continental!! The main aim of my stay was an overnight rest and it done the job very well so Thank you. I was impressed with the free parking as most hotels charge for this now. Please advertise this as a selling point for your rooms. Room was fairly priced and staff were scarce but on hand if we had an issue. This property is quirky, a little like Fawlty Towers. Would I stay again? I am not sure really but would not rule it out.

We chose this B&B for its location (just off the M4) easy to meet up with free parking. As two friends we had a family suite which was perfect as it was actually 2 adjoining rooms. Stayed a couple of nights in October. Very warm and friendly welcome from the lady on reception. Room was in keeping with a characterful building dating back to the 1700’s. Had everything we needed, spacious and was warm. Continental breakfast offered a good selection including great coffee. A few tiny improvements could make the Coach House 5/5 stars: a little bit of tlc to fix the broken bath panel and better utilisation of external space to create sufficient parking for all rooms.

Usinga Buyagiftdeal I was grateful to the owner/manager Edathat because we couldn't make it on original booking she let us change the dates. The room in the annexe building was small but generally comfortable but we felt it could have done with an extra chair and a window that let more air in or a fan offered. There was outside seating for two for use by each room around a nicely kept attractivegarden but it wasn't clear where or evenif there were table and chairs for our allotted room. That could be sorted in future. The continental breakfast included were more than adequate with a fair amount of choice.

I had a good night's sleep at The Coach House, and the staff were very friendly, but the building needs to be repaired/updated. The room itself was comfortable and fairly clean, and there was no noise from outside. I could hear everything in the room above (footsteps, tap running) but it's an old building, so understandable. At breakfast, there was an issue with the electricity, so people weren't able to make toast etc. But the staff did their best to resolve the issue. The full breakfast cost an extra £8.Overall my stay was fine, but it was overpriced. I appreciate that prices in and around Bristol have gone up, but it's quite expensive for what it is.If you're looking for basic accommodation just outside Bristol, this place is fine. With some repairs and updates, it could bea lovely place.

Staff are so lovely, with special mention to Jane who makes and serves a great breakfast, and who is a total star. Warm welcome at reception too.Nice spacious room and very clean.Stayed here a year on from my last visit, and asked for a room without another room above in case soundproofing hadn’t been sorted. It was much quieter but only had a very small window so was stuff on a warm day / evening. The mattress was uncomfortable in both rooms, they really need replacing, and hallway carpet too. Window frames are in a terrible state, and window stays don’t work.Tea and coffee making facilities too basic for the price of the room.Seems a shame such a lovely place isn’t polished up a bit.But overall I’d still come back!

The coach house provided attentive service to us. We checked in after business hours, and our key was left at the front desk with our name and key room, which were easy to spot. Check-in was no problem with real skeleton keys. Rooms were neatly made up and the bathroom was clean. We appreciated the non-single use bathroom supplies to preserve the environment.Continental breakfast was very good. We were impressed with the quick service: even when the last drops of the coffee pot were being poured, a fresh pot of coffee replaced it. There was a good variety of food and real products.

The owner/host was welcoming & very friendly. She gave us a choice of up-grading our free breakfast which was Continental, to Full English for an extra £8 each. We stuck with the original. A bit disappointing. Usually a Continental Breakfast is croissant, jam or honey, cheese & ham. Ours was toast,a variety of cereals & boiled eggs? Plenty of choices for marmalade, jam, honey, peanut butter & even marmite & yoghurt + 2 types of bread including gluten free, & of course tea & coffee, but not what we expected for a Continental. The knob on the door to the en-suite in our room was too close to the door frame & my husband hit his knuckles.Painful. All in all though the bed was comfortable & the room warm. Reasonable priced.

Room 2 on the ground floor could do with an update. Noise from room above with a squeaky, bouncy floor was annoying. It was also noisy very early (by 6am) as you could hear other residents moving around and those going in for an early breakfast. It was nicely clean, had a good shower and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was plentiful and the staff I met very polite. If I stay again I’d prefer a different room, but overall it was value for money considering the cost.

The coach house was a stopover for us en route to Cornwall from ferry at Fishguard and it was a good location for this. A family of 5 with a baby and 2 small children we squeezed into a room..it was a bit tight. We thought full English breakfast was included but wasn't so we paid £8 each for ours but decided against for the kids as continental was included and to be fair it was a decent continental breakfast. We didn't really need the full English! Manager was very warm and welcoming and we liked the few toys at reception our kids got to play with!

We arrived quite late but the directions were easy to follow and we all said 'Wow!' as we pulled up outside. We were welcomed very warmly and were shown to our room. The bedroom and en-suite were clean and spacious with a lot of light due to the huge window! The beds were comfy and it seemed very peaceful there, and the breakfast was served with a smile by a very friendly lady! I would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend it. Thanks Coach House.

I stayed here for one night and got a better rate by booking direct with the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly but a bit let down by the quality of the hotel. The furniture is high quality but the fixtures and fittings are very old and tired, lots of squeaky floorboards and no noise reduction measures. I liked staying here but I feel like it's in need of updating and making a little bit nicer.Full marks to the staff for being excellent, friendly and helpful.

Visiting the Bristol area for the first time we found this hotel in the local area which was cheap and conveniently placed for access into the city centre (10mins drive away). The staff were welcoming on arrival and the room was clean and tidy. Arriving back late at night there was still parking spaces and the area is quiet so able to have a nice night's sleep in the comfortable bed. We kept with the continental breakfast, however, the cooked breakfast received compliments from other residents. Will definitely stay here again and recommend for others who visit the area. Thanks again.

Ok for somewhere to lay your head for a night, but obviously the old Grade 2 listed building has its quirks like noisy wooden creaky floors, narrow hallways etc. Room and bedding was clean and comfortable. Biggest downside was the shower not having any warm water at all and having to shower underneath the powerful bath tap as they are connected to different supplies. Continental breakfast adequate and staff polite. Car park was full, so was difficult to squeeze in anywhere to park when arriving later.Ok but wouldn't personally choose to stay again.

Great place, had a big room and breakfast (shout out to Jane! 😊) was really good.Would say that the ceilings / floors need some sound proofing (could even hear them unzipping their bags!) which was a big problem for me as people in the room above were moving around and talking until really late. Also for the price I’d expect a really good mattress and better quality drinks and snacks in the room.Staff were great and room was clean, just was too pricey (with £10 extra for the dog and £8 extra for a cooked breakfast I paid £107 for single occupancy, and got little sleep due to issues above).

Comfortable, quiet, clean and convenient (for where I wanted to be), it ticked all the boxes for an unpretentious b&b. There was a reasonable choice for breakfast and a cooked one if you wanted to pay a bit extra. The pub 4 mins walk down the road (The White Horse) served good beer and good food.

The location is fairly convenient for Bristol, close to the M4, and not far (~2 miles) from the nearest Park & Ride. Having not stayed in the area before we don't feel that we can make a comment on value for money. We enjoyed our short stay at The Coach House.

Travelled to Bristol for OU lectures and needed somewhere close by to stay the night. Room had everything we needed but would have loved a bathtub - next time I will enquire further. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a terrific sleep as we could hear everything happening in the room above us. Woken up again at 3am when they came back and made more noise. All was not lost as we were treated to a great breakfast the next morning. There were generous amounts of cereals, fruit and toast on offer. We paid for a cooked breakfast which was excellent. We also want to thank ‘Jane’ our breakfast hostess who made sure we had everything and gave us good conversation. Thank you very much 😁

We had a really lovely stay after a hard days shopping at Cribbs! We were 3 adults and 1 child so had a family room and a double, all a really good size - the family room had a bath in the bathroom which my daughter enjoyed! We just had the included continental breakfast which there was plenty of, I'm gluten free which was also well catered for.The cooked breakfasts looked really good though from what I could see.The building is really quirky, everything was clean - maybe a little tired, the shower was really lovely and hot but pressure very weak if you have a lot of hair to wash!!Would definitely use again for our next shopping trip!

The location was ideal for us. Our stay was a pleasant one albeit just for one night. Our only concerns were that the mattress on our bed was a bit hard for our backs. Our breakfast was very good though - thank you.

We were made to feel welcome on arrival. Our room on the ground floor was clean and spacious. We liked the small courtyard. On the negative side we think the room above may have been a family room as we could hear people (children?) moving around and the bathroom fan is very noisy. I like a reasonably firm pillow but this one is absolutely rock hard. A fellow guest described it as sleeping on a brick in a pillow case.Having said that I would definitely stay there again. But I'd take my own pillow.

We stayed here with both dogs after an afternoon in Bristol (as a stopover on a long cross country journey). The location is really handy as it’s only a 10 minute drive out of Bristol - but without a car it would be quite difficult to get to or explore nearby. We had 2 dogs with us and found the dog friendly room cosy but it had everything we needed. The owner let us use her adjoining field to walk our dogs in the morning which was great. Breakfast was included and had a good selection and friendly service - and hot vegetarian options which is always a bonus! The property is feeling quite dated and would benefit from a bit of investment- but the staff were great and the room was exactly as advertised.

The position and room in feberal were nice. The signage was not most obvious from the road . It was unfortunate that on a hot day the window was broken so cross flow could not be created on a hot day so sleep was uncomfortable

We stayed one night. We had previously warned the hotel that we would be arriving between 9 and 10 p.m. and I think we got there just before 10. When we got our room key we were told that they were locking up as we were the last people to arrive. I was a bit surprised by that as I'm not sure what would have happened if we had wanted to go back out - it wasn't THAT late... But it was fine. The room was a bit tired but the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very spacious and the hotel was very, very quiet, which was great. Lovely lady serving a good fresh cooked breakfast the next morning and the price for the place was very reasonable for Bristol.

We were pleasantly surprised with The Coach House. Booked here to go to a gig at Thekla, Bristol. Nice quiet B&B on the outskirts of Bristol, easy to get to without getting stuck in rush hour traffic but just a 10 - 15 min drive into Bristol Centre later. We stayed in family room 5. Lovely big round window with a beautiful view of the trees and fields outside. Plenty of space for us, lovely bathroom. Nice furniture and comfy bed and bedding. We appreciated the fan as it was warm. There was also an extra heater, iron and board and hairdryer. We did have a very creaky floor which I did worry may annoy anyone below us as we both got up in the night. Stairs were quite steep and narrow.Lovely welcome and breakfast service, with hot and cold options. Also lots of nice pots and plants outside. We saw dogs inside but had no problem with noise. My suggestions to the hotel would be to have a make up mirror, as the mirror above the desk was up on the wall so I had to stand and lean over the desk as it was too high to see into when sitting. Also a full length mirror would have been appreciated. A small smoking shelter would be good as smokers were standing in the rain outside. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend :)

Handy for East side of Bristol or M4. Junction into A4174 does get very busy so plan ahead if time is important. Chip shop a couple of miles away in Winterbourne and pub in walking distance. Very helpful and friendly owners who made us really welcome. 18th c coach house with a lot of character so you can forgive the creaky floor that others have made comment on. Had the family room for 3 adults which was fine for a couple of nights. Beds comfortable and bathroom excellent. Plenty of hot water but not great flow from shower head but bath a good size. All very clean. Good size telly and Wi-Fi connection fine. Parked ok but noticed car park full on first night. Some background road noise due to M4 but not excessive. Gluten free catered for.

Bedding was comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities with iron and board. The only thing that needs improving is the bathroom which had mould on the ceiling due to poor ventilation (despite a fan - photo available). Breakfast was excellent with choices of juices, cereals and a full English breakfast. Thanks also for receiving us late that night around 22:20 hrs.

I was visiting Bristol with my daughter and needed somewhere that we could base ourselves and bring our two small dogs. We were made so welcome by Isabella - nothing was too much trouble for her. We were even allowed to use the dining room to have a 'take away' with my daughters friends, so we didn't have to go out and leave the dogs behind. The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed and homely. The bedroom was basic but spotlessly clean with a good sized en-suite. We were greeted for breakfast by a lovely lady, I think called Jane, who took our order and brought us our beautifully cooked, good quality Full English breakfasts. There was also a great selection of fruit, juices, yoghourts, toast etc., as well as good bottomless filter coffee! There was plenty of parking and we were only a short drive away from the City Centre. We will certainly be returning.

We stayed two nights here. Me and my two adult kids. The owner was very understanding and obliging over our situation. She let us eat breakfast in a separate room to keep my daughter safe. I appreciated this very much. The hotel itself was a bit dated but spotlessly clean. Much to my relief! We were in room eight. Be prepared for alot of noise. Water and pipe noise and from the other rooms. It didn’t bother us so much but if you’re a light sleeper you may struggle. Stairs very narrow and quite steep if you struggle like my daughter, be aware of that. I struggled to get her up and down as I normally go by her side and this wasn’t possible. I would stay here again. The breakfast was cooked and cereal and fruit etc. Fresh coffee which was much needed and appreciated! The owner made all the difference to be honest. She was fantastic.

Friendly staff at reception, my room was clean and it was a nice breakfast.During my stay the TV wouldn’t work, the women came and reset the channels very quickly; however, once it had done searching it still didn’t work. I called reception and was told “would you like me to come try again?” Clearly that wasn’t going to work, but wasn’t offered a replacement, or a solution. So 8pm my only option was to go to bed…. For that I won’t be returning.

We stayed at the coach house for a day out in Bristol. We messaged ahead of our stay to have an early check in which was no problem. We stayed in the 4 person family room. We found it spacious and spotlessly clean. Good quality bedding and very comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious but only 1 sausage and 1 slice of bacon on the cooked breakfast which we felt was a little stingey. Otherwise lots of choice for the continental help yourself. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Checking in was easy and quick. The beds were comfortable and tea/coffee were supplied in the room. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and met our needs. We booked at the last minute and didn't regret it. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. They were very accepting of our large dog. Breakfast was good too, even the dog got a sausage sometimes. In an ideal world we would have liked to go walking in the nearby fields with our dog, but couldn't find any public footpaths. We should have asked. Courtyard garden is small and had long term tenants in rooms around it which put us off using it. Good location at the edge of Bristol near major roads so easy access. Excellent nearby pub for a meal with dog but book to avoid disappointment.

Considering this B&B was just off the M32 you would not know it, down a little driveway you are welcomed by a quaint old coach house with convenient Parking outside. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who checked us in, when we asked about food for the evening she recommended the pub just a short 5 minute stroll away. After booking our breakfast time she showed us to our room, which was lovely and warm as soon as we opened the door. Spacious room with large comfortable double bed and great size bathroom & shower. The room was well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, TV, vanity area, wardrobe with iron, ironing board, fan and hairdryer. As well as this there was twocomfy chairs and a small table. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast with options of cereal, fruit, yogurts, toast, fried breakfast, fruit juices, coffee and a selection of teas. The chef on duty was on her own working as both chef and server but she was absolutely wonderful, so friendly and the food was served fresh and without a long wait which was a surprise as it was busy but she was like a kitchen ninja everywhere at once… Overall great stay will definitely be back.

We returned to the Coach House, having stayed there a few years ago. It was just as lovely, the breakfast was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. We caught the bus from the drive into Bristol and ate at local restaurants, which were excellent. If we are in the area again we will stay at the Coach House again.

At first we thought it was a bit sparten with a lot if dark tables and furniture in the hallway arched wrea and the carpet and hallway to our bedroom looks tired, however our bedroom was spotless and comfortable with a nice shower room and clean towels. We had a lovely breakfast from a sweet lady with plenty of choice. So in all we were very happy with our stay.

This is a listed building over 260 years old. It creaks a bit and has the odd cobweb which adds to its charm.Rooms are well decorated with beautiful wooden furniture, a small courtyard to get some fresh air. Lovely breakfast catering for all our parties needs. Lovely pub 4 minute walk away. All in all great stay. Thank you

A very easy check in, room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could do with a towel rail, or could just ask for more dry towels.A great location to get to may areas of Bristol and easy access off the motorway, plus great free parking for our medium size van always a bonus in a city.

The staff were excellent and the room and public areas were fine. The whole place really does need some maintenance. Not a bad location for going in and out of Bristol and for a trip to Bath and the surrounding areas.Would probably stay again especially if they manage to carry out some work!

On first approach the sign is easily missed, but on second pass found it up a driveway. On arrival the entryway does look a little tired but this does not deter from the staffing the welcome you get. I am disabled and everything was superb from the size of the room to the breakfast served. I would 100% stay here again, as for value for money for 2 of us it ticked every box.

The Coach House is a nice old building with some large rooms and some smaller ones in a motel style arrangement at the back. There is a pretty courtyard garden and lovely countryside all around. The manager and staff were helpful and friendly. In the family room we had, the beds were very comfortable but the shower pressure was a bit low. Good value for money.

We have stayed several times now and has been perfect for our needs. Not overly pristine, more shabby chic and homely. No fuss. Just all you need, a comfy (fairly firm) bed, good clean modern bathroom facilities, and very good breakfast!Dog friendly, but wouldn't detract for a non-dog person here as there's plenty of space. We will be staying again.

Nice rambles around the inn too.The room was a good size.Bathroom could have been cleaner, but generally everywhere was very clean and tidy. In room refreshments were appreciated.Breakfast has an excellent choice.Excellent value for money.

We live in Bristol and were staying at the Coach House as we dealt with a housing situation. Iza and the rest of the Coach House staff were extremely helpful, friendly and supportive, going out of their way to accommodate our needs. Breakfast was excellent and included gluten-free and lactose-free options. The location is one we were familiar with, adjacent to the Frome Valley Walkway, which is one of Bristol's hidden treasures. There is an excellent pub a few doors down and a twenty minute walk on country lanes brings you to Winterbourne with a wide range of options for eating out -- we enjoyed the Royal Raj's Wednesday special 5 course menu which gave us enough food for two days. Highly recommended!

This place potentially could be really nice. The environment is so conducive to wellbeing and rest. The reception area is dark and needs to be overhauled. Lightened up and refurbished. I paid 115 pounds for the night and so is not dirt cheap,we had a good night sleep and had a good sized family room, but yet again decor, and furniture needs replacing, its tired, even the painting hanging needs to fit in with the theme 'Coach house'. Like i said the room had everything we needed it just needs vision and it could be a lovely place to stay instead of a stop over.

I have stayed at the coach house many times and was happy this time to be in room 5 which is a lovely room overlooking the rear of the property so fairly quiet. The room was cozy and provided mostly what we needed for a short stay. However, the double bed was not big enough for 2 medium sized adults so we had to request a mattress on the floor for our child,so that one of us could sleep in the single bed.We were charged £10 for that but it gave us a more comfortable 2nd nights sleep. The breakfast was adequate but limited on choice. It would have been nice to have a fish choice as Friday as no meat day in our religion.Having said that, there was enough to eat.On our second morning there were several dogs in the hotel and, despite a sign saying "no animals allowed" in the dining room,2 of the dog owners walked their dogs passed out table several times. The owners did not address that with the owners. On top of that,a third dog was batking on and off throughout the breakfast time, which was a little unsettling. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I would normally give a higher rating but the small bed and dogs changed that this time.

We were overnighting here with three children aged 5-10 and a dog. I was disappointed, given the lovely reviews we'd read online. On the plus side, it's very easy going there, the breakfast was delicious and the lady cooking/serving was really nice - and my husband said the man who checked us in was lovely. The building is in need of painters, decorators and a deep clean. My husband nearly twisted his ankle on a hole in the floor underneath the carpet, which buckled as he walked. There is road noise, although not as much as you'd expect given the proximity of the motorway. And there is a lovely pub with great dog-friendly garden serving delicious food just a two minute walk away.Overall, I would say over-priced for the poor quality of the building, compensated for by an easy going atmosphere and lovely staff and a delicious breakfast.

Pre-booked a stopover visit on our way from Manchester to Cornwall so we could visit the area. Dog-friendly hotel with small paddock to the side that I was able to use with prior permission (not very tidy though). Not many places to walk to, from the hotel, to exercise the dog as it's a busy place in what was in the past, I assume, a little hamlet.Good COVID restrictions in place, so we felt safe when we arrived. The reception was unmanned but there is a bell and the owners/manager was on-hand straight away. The stairs looked a little tired, as did the rabbit run of hallways and the rooms, but it was quiet and comfortable with plenty of room and a HUGE bathroom - so big the wardrobe was located there! The shower was a great big walk-in one. The bed was very hard, but it was fine for one night's stay. Sadly we discovered the top cover/throw had a big 'tea' stain on the underside in the morning, which wasn't very nice to find. There were also a few marks on the old carpet where things had been spilled in the past...This is a very old building, so if you want modern and crisp, this isn't the place for you. The furniture is actually quite continental. It suited us as we were leaving in the morning.Breakfast was good with help yourself cereal, tea, coffee and toast. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was delicious and my husband had the full English breakfast.Hosts are very friendly and happy to help.I couldn't find where the courtyard garden area was, so didn't get to see that.Parking was a nightmare, but we were fully prepared as we'd read the hotel reviews. Fortunately, we managed to get a space, but when we left for a meal we lost it. Again, fortunately, I managed to squeeze into a small space.A bit of tidying up on the approach would benefit for those all-important first impressions. Definitely need to check and regularly launder the top bed covers or remove and add a throw instead.

Suited us, room was large as was bathroom, had everything we needed. Ample parking, small courtyard, ample options for breakfast. Left alone, but in a nice way, to come and go as we pleased, staff only a telephone call away if needed. Only anti was i think our room was above the kitchen area so as soon as there was life in the morning you were woken, depends if you are an early riser or not. But tbh you can find fault with anything if you look hard enough. We were comfortable and felt safe and relaxed, and had a lovely break visiting familiy in Bristol, so was a perfect base for 4 nights

Family room was in need of TLC, all beds squeaked so we had to use the bed covers to pad between the head boards and the walls. Decor is very out of date, could do with a repaint and some new bed frames, lamps etc. The staff were pleasent and the building was clean. Views not great from the family room. Breakfast was standard b&b food.

For the things that matter for a practical overnight stay The Coach House has got it right. Whilst not being sleek and modern in style, which suits us, both rooms we have stayed in were spacious, clean, comfortable and everything worked. The towels are generous and the linen crisp and clean. The service is helpful and friendly and it is a change to be in a reasonably priced hotel that is not a soulless chain. The WiFi is a little on the slow side and neither room had a space with mirror, electric socket and light for hair and make up etc. I am happy to recommend it.

Stayed in the executive double on the ground floor. The room was big enough, and the bed was comfy, sheets and towels were clean.Breakfast was good apart from the tinned mushrooms served. There is parking very tight and limited.Nice modern shower, however no shower door and the drainage was poor, dirty water filled up around your feet and you had to wait for it to be sucked out every now and then, not quick enough soapy water filled the tray and the water power was low, this I think is done on purpose as there is no shower door to stop the water filling the bathroom floor. There is no water left in room and no fridge so you could not buy and keep any refrigerated stuff in the room. Hence my review title ok to stay for one night but not for days.

Lovely modern rooms with good quality furniture, high spec bathroom and comfortable beds. Decent breakfast. Easy access to the M4 (noise of the road not an issue despite how close it is) and easy walking distance to a couple of really excellent pubs.

Quiet accommodation, everything that we needed. Comfy beds and warm. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, special thank you to the lady from Wooton under edge( sorry I didn't get your name), for always having a chat and seeing that we had enough to eat. The area was beautiful, with a gorgeous pub within walking distance that did wonderful food. Nothing was too much trouble, we'll be back soon.

Friendly clean Comfortablestay, Good Breakfast each day with a lovely little waitress! However rooms were nothing like the Pictures shown on their website. We booked Executive Double en-suite rooms.. ( not surewhat makes them Executive) very basic rooms. No bath just a shower, we feel Pictures need updating on the website .

This b&b was overpriced for what they offered. The beds in our room were in need of new mattresses which hopefully be firmer. The room could have done with a fresh lick of paint as well. There was tea and coffee available in the room which was good. Also breakfast and breakfast staff were good. On arrival you had to ring a bell but it wasn’t answered. This happened as well when I needed toilet rolls. I had to phone the hotel to say I was at the desk??? Good parking on site which was useful.

Myself and my partner stayed here with our little puppy in September 2020.We had an executive double room. The Coach House was easy to find and is conveniently located just off the motorway. The staff were super friendly and loved our puppy.Check in was easy! They had lots of vegan choices from breakfast which was great for me.My other half had the cooked breakfast and he said it was excellent. The room was clean and large and had lots of good facilities including an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, tea & coffee making and TV.We had beautiful views over the fields at the back.Overall we had an excellent stay and would definately stay again!

Fantastic place to stayLiterally just off the M4 and all at a good price with Breakfast included and Dogs welcome (for a small supplement). The room in a eurostyle chalet block at the rear was very comfortable and even had a shared out-door area for when you don't want to be stuck in a room.Found a great pub just down the road (White Horse - Book for food) as well as at least three others in nice mile or so dog-walking distance in the villages or hamlets of Frenchay, Stoke Gifford and Bromley Heath. The lady who booked us in seemed to work stupidly long hours but every time we passed we felt welcome and that nothing would be too much trouble if we asked.

Great base for visiting Bath Bristol and west coast beaches like Western. Decor is a little tired, but it’s clean and tidy. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice and always quick. Only negative we’re the plumbing was a little loud in the mornings once people were up and about showering and the tea/coffee cups in the room were very small. Over all great value for money.

Spent the one night at the hotel. Very friendly and enthusiastic reception staff member. Plenty of parking. The rooms were pleasant. Travelled with my husband and teenage daughter. Surprisingly there was a separate single room which was great for her. The rooms were comfy and clean, in need of a little update perhaps and maybe a good pairing, but didnt detract too much. All amenities were really good, iron/board/hairdryer. The only downside I'd say was that the ensuite-bathroom was attached to the smaller bedroom so had to disturb my daughter every time, but again a small issue. Breakfast was ample and tasty. Well set up with lots of cereal, fruit and full english. All in all, we had a very pleasant and comfy stay. Great value and a great location for travelling into Bristol. Theres also a great pub about a 10 min walk way too.Would stay again.

We have enjoyed our stay at the Coach House and found it to be a comfortable and relaxing place to stay with very helpful staff and a warm welcome. We found the facilities in the rooms were good with nice decor though needed some updating in places, however the immediate surroundings in front of the property and view from our room window could have been improved. The breakfast rooms downstairs were basic but still pleasant and a delicious and well cooked breakfast was on offer with excellent service, even after a mistake was made with the timings which we felt should have been made clearer to us. During the Covid situation, we felt comfortable that the hotel was making every effort to comply with all regulations and we felt safe and looked after.

Lovely placeStaff incredibly welcoming and pleasant.Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were in room 8. Plenty of room for us.Rooms were warm however I did have to put a towel on the curtain as the small window doesn't shut properly which was letting in an awful draft. After I did this I was absolutely fine and it didn't affect the temperatureThe bathroom light took a considerable amount of time to come on but was bright and functional when it did eventually come on.The beds were Comforatble and I had a great night sleepThe breakfast was beautiful, plenty of choice and the lovely women couldn't do enough for you and was extremely tentative. We walked right out of the entrance and approximately 2 minutes down the road and had a 3 course evening meal at the White horse. I would recommend this lovely Country pub, busy but the food is home cooked and delicious. Reasonably priced too.Over all it was a pleasant and comfortable stay and I'd recommend staying here again.

We returned to the Coach House after a really wonderful experience last June for my 40th. I have to say we left feeling a little disappointed overall on this occasion. The rooms are lovely and it's a great place. We were able to order a takeaway and use the dining room in the evening which was really nice. However the shower took ages to warm up to a tepid temperature and had low pressure. Breakfast should be 8:30-9:30am at the weekend but when we arrived we were asked to have it by 8:30 at the latest due to other guests checking out early and the owner not wanting his cook in for longer than necessary. In fact we were asked twice, quite emphatically. It was a bit annoying as we don't get away much but we agreed. We came in for breakfast at 8:30. There was tea, coffee and juices and a good range of cereals, toast and various spreads. We opted for a range of cooked options. The poached eggs were lovely but we were disappointed with the scrambled and the bacon. But it was OK, nothing worth complaining about. However, we were pretty annoyed when other guests came in for breakfast at 9:10 and were having their cooked options prepared at almost 9:30am - an hour later than we were told. We did mention it and offered an apology. The guests had checked in late and not received the message about early breakfast. If it was so necessary, I'm sure a message could have been left in their room.

We stayed in a family room and found it to be comfortable but the beds all squeaked every time you moved, bed frames may need tightening up! The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, curtains didn’t close properly, the shower temperature was difficult to get right, and the bathroom floor could get very slippy. Breakfast was generous, sausages not to our taste but overall, very nice.

Thank you so much and I will definitely stay again when in the area.

When i booked i asked about disabled parking as my wife is in a wheelchair, on arrival their was 2 parking spaces for me to use and an entrance to our room by the parking. The room was clean and large enough for the wheelchair. The bed was comfortable and bathroom suitable for my wife to use and shower in. Only major complaint no heating Saturday morning. I would like to thank the staff and other guests when my wife was taken ill Saturday at breakfast for their assistance, after being checked over in A&E we had the all clear to travel home. I will be using this again when visiting family.

A little hard to find initially as directions hadnt been updated with changes. Good free parking. Nice reception from staff with information. Pleasant room. Heating great except radiator in bathroom not working. Small points lack of hangers. Mirror in wrong place on wall (should be above desk) insufficient towel rails. Pillows awful. Breakfast very good and staff charming. Good for price paid

The establishment itself was slightly far away from the city centre however if you have a car there’s no problem as you can park in town for quite cheap prices. The rooms were beautiful decorated, cosy and quaint. The area for dining was suitable and the breakfast was a standard fry up. However, I would have liked to see a vegan menu as I’m not sure if this was offered or not. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back.

It's all fine, but just needs tidying up a bit.The signs on the road front are lent against a chair, and the bins are all on show as you drive up the drive. The staff aren't stunningly welcoming but do enough. The deco is tired but very clean. My room was large with great TV and comfy bed.The breakfast was massive but not sure if the ingredients were very good quality.I would stay again because this room cost me £99 and all the other local hotel chains were £200 (which is crazy for North Bristol - you can get a stunning hotel in London for way less than £200).It kind feels like somewhere the owner doesn't visit to check very often and the staff do just enough to retain the desired profit to avoid a visit from the boss.

Communication with The Coach House was very good and made a late check in easy.We had a triple room as visiting UWE for open day with our son.Upon entering the room unfortunately it smelt of drains - once the bathroom was blocked off and window open, it was fine! The room was a good size and the beds very comfortable. Does probably need a little lick of paint.Shower wasn't very good but made me have a bath which was a nice change.Breakfast very good with a nice choice.Staff were all very friendly.Directions need to be updated as The Crown Pub no longer there!Nice and peaceful location. TV didn't work in our room and floorboards very creaky - just hoped there were no guests underneath us!

Being greeted with such a happy welcome from Emma after a long week working in the hottest time of the year, was refreshing and indicative of the approach all the team have. The room was great, nice size bed (I'm 6' 2" so it helps). The standard of cleanliness was excellent throughout.I enjoyed a bar meal that was freshly cooked and to a very high standard and although I didn't eat in the restaurant, the menu looked very appetising.Slept well despite the heat and enjoyed a high quality freshly cooked to order breakfast.Highly recommended and I will look to visit again!

Why do I love it? Easy to get to.Beautuful comfortable room. Bed great, shower great.always clean and well cared for. Most importantly to me as a smoker this place has court yard rooms that have cover from sun or rain,a table to sit at and ash tray right outside my room. I can pop out anytime especially at night and feel safe to have that last smoke if the day.Good breakfast only improvement for me would be better quality bread. Some sliced sourdough would make it perfect.

My stay at the Coach House was fine although it could've been improved in a couple of areas. Firstly I think there should be a sign on the opposite side of the road as I drove past it and was unable to find it. The room was very clean and tidy but the pillows weren't very comfy and therefore I didn't have a great nights sleep. I was in room 9 and there was a locked cupboard which I later figured out had something to do with the water pump as when a neighbouring room used their shower late at night, the pump in my cupboard was awfully loud and stopped me from sleeping. The breakfast selection could also have been improved with some small pastries as the options were full breakfast or cereal. The lady serving breakfast was lovely and made me feel very welcome and the food was served very quickly in a very clean environment.

The place is very clean, friendly helpful staff. We stYed on the ground floor and we’re a party of three adults but the bathroom facilities let it down as the toilet blocked after one use which they did fix but then when we had a shower the next morning it blocked so did the sink and toilet we informed the staff. Luckily we were only staying one night but meant the other adults having to shower in the person dirty water.

The Coach House is a great choice if you want a personal service. The staff members are all extremely helpful and put themselves out for any extra request. The breakfast is good. The only criticisms are the musty smell in the bedroom, which I suppose is expected in such an old building and the little issies such as toilet roll holder falling g off the wall and no hooks on bathroom door to hang a bathrobe. But on the whole, a great place to stay.

I spent two nights here and on arrival received a warm welcome.I had a nice bright room with good quality furniture. There was a comfortable bed and enough of pillows. My breakfast of two fried eggs and bacon was done to perfection and the coffee was drinkable.Good shower room fitted with good quality equipment. There was a fan provided as well as another separate heater. There are the usual team and coffee making facilities provided.A couple of niggles, only two coat hangers though I suspect had I asked for more they would probably have been forthcoming. There is nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, the one shelf is inadequate; another worktop on the same plane as the sink would be useful.Otherwise, it is a thoroughly comfortable and well-run establishment, which I would recommend to anyone visiting the district.

Much nicer than staying in a chain hotel. My room was very comfortable and had hairdryer, iron, heater and fan which was a nice touch. Shower was good (very important for some) and the bed was on the firm side but very comfy. Lovely table and chairs outside the room made it feel like a holiday rather than business stay.Brilliant gastro pub two minutes down the road. The owner made me feel very welcome and the breakfast was lovely too.Would definitely stay again.A really nice environment.

Lovely, comfortable beds, very clean. Beds made daily, clean fluffy towels daily. Cooked breakfast were hot and delicious. A choice of cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt. We used the Coach House as a base for visiting SS Great Britain, the Concord and Museum, Clifton Suspension Bridge and several other places. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. It was great for our grandson to have free wifi too!
Reviewer: Steven H | Sun 26th Aug 2018 | 6 years ago
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast plentiful with a good selection of hot and cold food, the only disappointment was the shower which started out with hot water, until the water supply stopped running completely and when the water returned it was cold. Despite allowing the shower to run for a while and turning it off and starting again - i could not have a hot shower and I had to rinse the shampoo off of my hair in the bathroom basin.

Had a great 2 night stay at the Coach House. Staff lovely. Only downer was the awful shower in room 8. A trickle would be too complimentary! Hot then cold then stopped mid shower. Must be sorted! But didn’t spoil a quiet nights sleep & a hearty breakfast.

Have to say that we were a little disappointed with our stay at The Coach House. It was ok but that is as far as you can go.Our room was very small with the most uncomfortable bed. Ensuite toilet and shower on the other side of the room to the sink.Inconsistent shower ran from scolding hot to ice cold and shower cubicle and curtain could do with a really good clean. Orange bedroom curtains let in so much light that it felt like the bedroom light was on.Staff were lovely though.

Being regular visitors to Bristol, on this occasion we had to find accommodation at very short notice, so unfortunately we were unable to book into any one of our usual hotels. I managed to locate the Coach House which had a vacancy, so decided to stay for our visit. Some of the reviews that I read were a little mixed, but I must say that we were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is situated within easy access to central Bristol, and you can be in the city centre in just under 15 minutes. There is ample free private parking at the hotel, which has a rural French feel about it. The double room that we had booked was quiet, clean and well appointed, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Some of the previous reviewers noted that they had experienced problems with the hot water supply, however we had ample supply at all times of the day. The cooked breakfast was excellent, and my wife who is Coeliac, was very well catered for. I can thoroughly recommend the hotel and we will certainly be staying at the hotel in future. I consider it to be have a lovely ambience and be very good value for money.

I think the accomadation and the location are very nice, easy to get into Bristol and close to the main routes. As I reported already at the manager on duty, we experienced some discomfort with the shower in rooms 7 and 9. I understood that if you are fully booked the hot water doesn't work properly but honestly in 5 days I stayed there I managed to have only once a nice warm shower. At once there was no pressure and suddeltly there was no more water coming through.Further to this I also reported that the bed in room 7 was rather uncomfortable, as I think some matress springs are broken.Anyway, I often travel to Bristol and I would like to stay other times at your B&B as overall I found it nice and clean. I just thought to address those two points for you to improve.I hope this can help.Thank youBest RegardsAngela Aggujaro

Booked an executive room which was great from being executive. Very small bathroom. Bedroom door was cut far too short so noise from people walking up and down the door was exaggerated.Didn’t have breakfast.

If we could give 3.5 stars we would. 3 is a little unfair and 4 a little generous. The room was good value for money - clean & comfortable but the shower was a bit temperamental. However, breakfast was a bit of a disappointment particularly the sausages which were of cheap quality. If the cost of breakfast had been cheaper we would expect this standard but at £10 per person,we would expect better quality. Next time we would book the room without breakfast included.

Nice, clean, and spacious double bedroom! The bed was comfortable and the kettle in the room was a lovely addition. The breakfast was varied and tasty!Mind the shower though as it went from boiling to freezing repeatedly in a matter of seconds! Not sure if this was due to the amount of people showering at the same time? I'll definitely try an 'off-peak' shower on my next visit!

We stay here twice a year every year and have done for 4 years now - every February for 2 nights and November for 2 nights.Nothing is too much trouble - we needed an earlier check in and it was done. We needed to leave out luggage in reception for a few hour - no problems! Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast service was amazing and the breakfast was beautiful (again, all as per usual). Rooms are always clean and tidy and we're always greeted by warm and friendly faces, and Andy always recognises us.The only down side to this visit which was the first thing I kind of grumbled at which could not be helped at all was the 4am wakeup by the fire alarm, but at the same time it's comforting to know that they work! But it's just one of those things and I soon dropped back off to sleep. Thanks again for a great stay - see you in February!

First impression was that it seemed a little tired and needed smartening up in places but it's a really old property. We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was large and we had everything we needed; comfortable bed, great shower, TV and WiFi. Each morning we were welcomed to the dining room by a very cheery lady who served up a great breakfast. Would have liked the breakfast time slot to have been extended to 9:00am as were on holiday and a little lie in would have been nice but it didn't spoil our break. It's a short distance from Bristol but the traffic is terrible so you need to allow plenty of time if you are driving in. Bus stop just outside with a good regular service. All in all very good.

Wednesday this week was particularly bad where half way through my shower the water simply stopped flowing! Whilst I probably smelt very clean all day, i was left a little soapy!!Thanks and see you next week.Dave

This guest house was a nice place to stay with the benefit of a very attractive frontage which on its own will always secure bookings. The rooms were well laid out , with oak bed frames and friendly staff. If there's some money in the maintenance budget the hotel could improve its appearance immeasurably by doing some of the following: renewing the damaged worn out sofas in reception, replacing the door handles from ugly brass value to chrome, replace badly fitting doors where needed (our bathroom door was probably 2 inches too short)- could have a couple of oak doors contrasting the painted ones, the painted window sill in our bedroom was badly cracked and a nice piece of oak would have looked great! The views from our bedroom window were amazing with a huge possibly cedar tree ahead. There were rabbits in the field around the tree having a great time... Again if budget allows the unattractive flat roofs could be painted or covered eg with astro turf to blend in with the fields beyond. Also the small garden area could be made more appealing. The fencing at the front of the property could also be straightened to make it look more appealing. With some relatively small upgrades this good guest house blessed with a great frontage, nice staff and amazing outlooks could become a great guest house.

Loved it! Comfy beds, cosy rooms, clean and tidy, friendly staff. Only a small taxi ride from city centre, which we knew before we went. Definitely go back and recommend this b&b

Perfect. Conveniently located providing you're travelling by car, pleasantly/well appointed, attentive and obliging staff.the on site breakfast was great, as for the pub across the way it's probably best avoided for an evening meal unless convenience is king. wasn't terrible, just left me thinking i should have tried the one along the road

Hospitality very good and breakfast the same. Could not fault the service. The place itself looking very tired. Road signage overgrown. Our room had watermarks on bedhead wall due to a leak of some kind that could have been cleaned.

Beautiful building and great service. The hotel needs to have some final touches to make it perfect. Once this is done, the property will be worth considerably more than what is it advertised for now.

A very well converted old building.very clean and comfortable.far enough out of Bristol to be quiet, but still very convenient to the motorway junctions in all directions.Nice breakfast and friendly staff.Only downside was narrow/steep stairs as in all old buildings made getting bag up and downdifficult.

Myself and my friend stayed here for 2 nights ready for Badminton Horse Trials. The room was cute and cosy with everything you need and the staff were lovely. The free full english breakfast every morning was an added bonus! This hotel is in a good position just off the motoway with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Our 4th visit to The Coach House, and as always was made to feel welcome into a lovely quiet setting - until 2.50am on Sunday morning! We were very abruptly awoken by a very loud couple, arguing, swearing, slamming doors - not pleasant and rather terrifying in fact as it sounded like they might burst through our door at any moment.I daresay we shall still stay again as hopefully this was a one off but it did spoil our visit unfortunately.

A pleasant room, furnished simply but elegant. We usually book twin beds as we have had a lot of soft beds and cannot sleep properly because of them. We fortunately had another soft bed which meant we didn't sleep very well.We also had a downstairs room with a noisy set of guests above us who came in very late in the early hours. Our suggestion for improvement would be to carpet fully the upper room so shoes are not heard which would also help with soundproofing. Also change the mattress to a more firm one.Apart from that we were happy with our stay and the inclusive breakfast was fine. The yoghurt was particularly tasty.

The hotel was really nice and clean the family room was really nice and the bathroom so really nice and modern and really huge. And the food was really nice, (and it was normal sausages not like some really nice hotels that have some sort of herb sausage with I don't like so nice to see normal sausage) and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were really friendly too x

Andy who runs The Coach House is so welcoming and friendly. We travel from Wales and with neither of us driving and me working until 5:30, this meant I wasn't going to arrive until around 9pm, maybe later. Andy was understanding and hung around for me to arrive. He was amazing when we wanted to leave the suitcases there when we checked out on Sunday to do shopping, nothing was too much trouble.Rooms were how I remembered them, homely and comfortable. Everything you want from a hotel this has. The breakfast was superb, the area and location is superb. I have stayed here 4 times previous to this and never stay anywhere else when visiting Bristol.

I only stayed for a very short time, but it was pleasant. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice. The room was spacious and I was upgraded on arrival, which was a bonus. The only thing that could have been better was the water pressure in the shower.

Our stay at the Coach House was really very pleasant. We were greeted fairly well on the first night and shown our room..which was probably a stable once so it was fairly small but totally adequate for our 3 nightstay. It was warm and exceptionally clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable and bedding soft and cosy. Breakfast wasgood and the bestscrambled egg! Served by a very kind lady. Shewas only person we really came across. So if there was a fault it was there was a lack of personal attention if it was not for the lady at breakfast we would have felt a lack of personal warmth and friendliness you would expect from a B&B. Heavy rain formed large puddles in car park and we couldn't see in the dark so better lighting ? Especially near the overflow car park. But a Lovely stay and we hope to come back again soon!

Well done to Kate and the breakfast staff who dealt very well with a tricky overcrowding situation (no table free) and despite being so very busy managed to quickly produce a piping hot, excellent full English cooked breakfast. The room was quite "basic" with very poor lighting (no lights or plug sockets by mirrors which would have come in for much criticism from my partner who frequently notes hotel rooms appear to be designed by men not women!), limited storage for clothing etc. Bed was comfortable; overall the room would benefit from modernisation; it's looking very tired.

Stayed here as a last minute booking after having a project extended. Nice friendly staff who book you in and leave you alone. Accommodation is clean, modern and comfortable whilst being in a nice little spot 10 minutes to Abbey retail area but having a country feel about it. Fast internet that was very much appreciated. Overall much better than Holiday Inn 5 minutes away that I had stayed in the night before and so good I again booked for the next day and again next week. Breakfast was also fantastic and well above par for the course. Very impressed all round. Only sorry they don't have enough passing trade to warrant opening up for evening meals as well.

Although we have some comments, our stay in The Cottage house was OK. It was a little humid, FE the materials of the couches and chairs. There was not enough light in the kitchen and the dining table is very small and uncomfortable. Too much big furniture (couches and chairs) and all those books... Bed- and bathroom were fine. Our tip: make it an austere interior with natural materials, leave the big screen (or make a better table for it). The Tuesday buffet was amazing, wow! With care for vegans/vegetarians. All the people in the bar, hotel and dining room were very friendly and helpful.

Not really travelling as a group of adults, but a family with teenagers, but there was no option for that. Room not really big enough for 4.Breakfast was OK - not really a great deal of choice, limited cereals, only orange juice, limited cooked options. Bathroom really good size. Bath plug didn't work and when the top came off I could see all the dirt that hadn't been cleaned off. Holes in the bedroom wall wouldlook better repaired and decorated. There are parts of the hotel which are lovely but little things let it down, like the holes mentioned, holes in doors where locks have been changed, only 1 teaspoon in the room.

This is a lovely quiet place and the staff are very helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Some areas are a little tired and dreary like the stairs and could do with a lick of paint. A choice of individual yogurts for breakfast would be nice but the breakfast as a whole was excellent.Breakfast is served until 8.30 in the week which is a bit early when on holiday and predominamtly self service; so if you want to be waited on hand and foot you will be disappointed. We have stayed in more expensive hotels and found the walls to be thin and the breakfast and decor to be mediocre. All in all this is good value and clean and comfortable and we would stay here again.

We didn't sleep that well but it was nothing wrong with the Coach House, there was a hen party chatting in the court yard until 3am. I use the Coach House B&B for one night a week during much of the year and find it clean, restful in design and comfortable. They do a good English breakfast (with alternatives) and the staff are helpful and friendly. Every room has tv, an ironing board and iron, tea and coffee, a hairdryer and free shower gel/shampoo.Rates are extremely reasonable.

I found this accommodation very welcoming and comfortable, with a good hearty breakfast to set you up for the day, it was an all round pleasant overnight stay, would certainly use here again when I am in the area

The room was lovely and clean and the CoachHouse is in a lovely old building in a great setting. Breakfast was great but we had a few issues keeping the shower warm.

A brief, but pleasent stay. The hotel looked very appealing though i am not sure if the room was worth £60 for one night, but i did appreciate the quietness of the location, it was very relaxing. The room was pleasent with one exception of an unpleasent smell that seemed to come through the bathroom window. There was a good breakfast menu available and the lady attending was very attentive and polite and the Andy was very helpful and friendly.I would definately stay at the Coach House again.

Didn't spend long here but very comfortable and friendly staff. One tip.... You don't need the heating quite so high!! Room was roasting!! Will save yourself a few quid too!!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, the hotel was lovely and our room spacious and warn. We had a large TV and comfortable bed, the room was decorated with beautiful farm house style solid wood furniture. Breakfast was lovely and fresh, plenty to keep us full until dinner. If we come that way again we will definitely book again and we will recommend to friends. Very much worth the price which I feel was reasonable. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This place is handy for visitingfamily in Bristol.Breakfast is rather plain. It wouldbe nice to have a range of fruit and breads. Also i booked room 1 and got room 9. Not my favourite. It wouldhave been nice to know if my preferencecould not be met.
Response
Dear Mrs.Braley,We thought you might like Room 9 which has a good view of the fields and hence we allotted this room.Kindly inform us while checking in, in future of any preference so we can change accordingly. Our apologies.

We had a great stay at the coach house - just one night.Very comfortable bed & nice clean room. The breakfast on Sunday was pretty good too.Only one comment - the catch on the window in our ground floor room (No 14) was broken, so window could not be fully secured. We would not hesitate to return - Very good value - Many thanks

Really nice room, very quiet and warm, the only thing was the main bedroom could do with a mirror near a plug point for us ladies to do their hair in the morning.

Positives: Extremely comfortable bed, lovely waitress at breakfast, breakfast itself lovely, value for money, room nicely designed and spacious. Would recommend Maniks restaurant in nearby Filton, lovely Thai/Indian food.Negatives: We were not given an executive double room as stated when we booked. More of a problem was the location of the room, at the top of the staircase off reception. Due to the lofty nature of the reception noise from reception echoed and other guests were very loud past 11 at night and early in the morning which was not ideal on this business trip. This was a shame as the building is lovely.
